With structured VCE Global Politics tutoring, students build confidence and strengthen key skills for success in VCE—covering power, sovereignty, human rights, and global crisis case studies.

VCE Global Politics helps students understand how global decisions are made and how power, cooperation, and conflict shape our world. It’s highly relevant for those interested in law, international relations, journalism, politics, and humanitarian work. The subject fosters informed global citizenship and critical thinking about real-world challenges.

A tutor can support you in breaking down complex political theories, sharpening your essay-writing skills, and applying global case studies with precision. They’ll help you prepare for SACs and the final exam by strengthening your argumentation, ensuring clarity in responses, and linking content to current events. Tutoring is especially helpful for mastering the balance between theory and real-world examples.

Unit 1: Ideas, Actors and Power
- Students explore political ideologies and systems, comparing liberal democracies like Australia with non-democratic systems, and analysing the influence of political parties, interest groups, and media.

Unit 2: Global Connections
- Students examine how globalisation affects states and individuals, analyse global cooperation and conflict, and evaluate Australia's role in international issues like climate change or people movement.

Unit 3: Global Actors
- Students investigate key actors in global politics—including states, intergovernmental organisations (IGOs), non-government organisations (NGOs), and transnational corporations (TNCs)—and assess how effectively an Asia-Pacific state pursues its national interest.

Unit 4: Global Challenges
- Students explore two global issues such as climate change, terrorism, or human rights, and evaluate the ethical perspectives, responses, and effectiveness of global actors in addressing these challenges.

The final exam is 2 hours long plus 15 minutes reading time, covering all outcomes from Units 3 and 4. The exam includes short-answer and extended-response questions, focusing on global actors, ethical issues, and global challenges. Students are assessed on their understanding of concepts, ability to apply case studies, and their evaluation of effectiveness and ethical perspectives. The exam contributes 50% of the final study score.

In VCE Global Politics, your final study score is made up of School-Assessed Coursework (SACs) and a final examination.

‍Unit 3 SACs contribute 25%, Unit 4 SACs contribute 25%, and the final written exam contributes 50%.

Assessments focus on written analysis, structured responses, and extended evaluations of political actors, ideologies, and global issues.

VCE Global Politics is considered a conceptually rich subject that rewards students who enjoy debate, analysis, and current affairs. While the subject involves abstract ideas and ethical reasoning, it does not have a high content load compared to some science subjects. With regular engagement and strong writing skills, students find the subject intellectually stimulating and accessible.

Scoring a 40 or above in Global Politics is achievable with strong written communication, consistent engagement with global issues, and effective exam preparation. Students who stay up to date with international affairs, practise written responses, and refine their use of case studies and political theory are well-positioned for a top score.

Global Politics typically scales slightly down. A raw score of 30 may scale to around 28, and a 40 to approximately 39, depending on the year. However, the subject is popular among students with strong writing and critical thinking skills, and it rewards deep engagement with global issues and argumentation.

Tutoring for Global Politics typically focuses on reinforcing key concepts, improving writing skills, and helping you link theory to real-world events. Tutors guide you through SAC preparation, assist with structuring high-scoring responses, and offer strategies for engaging with complex ethical and political issues. Sessions often include discussion-based learning and feedback on written tasks.
