Parents may be present during the lesson if they would like. However, all tutors will provide a summary of the session every time. This can be viewed from within our tutor management software which you register for once you begin tutoring with Apex Tuition Australia.

Apex Tuition Australia provides in-person tutoring across Australia. In terms of exact location, this is dependent on the students. Some students prefer home visits, while others like to do sessions at a local library or school.

We have coverage for all subjects, but on occassion due to location, subject and availability of tutors we may not be able to service in-person tutoring.

To start tutoring with Apex, please fill out this form. One of our Operations Managers will receive and process it. They will get all the necessary details from you and then begin the process of finding the perfect tutor for you.

Once you’ve been matched with an online tutor by one of our Operations Managers, your tutor will reach out to arrange a suitable time for your session. The tutor will then send you a link to join the lesson. Depending on their preference, tutors may use a variety of tools such as video calls, interactive whiteboards, and real-time messaging, ensuring an engaging and personalised learning experience.

Because your tutor is based in your city, they are familiar with the local course content and curriculum. This means students can access tailored lessons across a wide range of subjects, delivered in a way that matches their individual learning style and pace.

Online tutoring also offers flexibility — students can learn from home at times that suit them best. A key strength is the ability to receive immediate feedback and personalised attention. One-on-one interaction allows students to ask questions, get instant responses, and develop a deeper understanding of the subject, all within a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

Tutoring can happen anywhere based on your individual needs. We have tutors that can travel to your home or a nearby meeting spot. Alternatively, if you prefer or if we have no tutors in the area, we can arrange online tutoring. All tutors are trained to use online tools to maintain tutoring quality.

Currently, we are providing in-person tutoring services in Melbourne and Sydney. Additionally, we have online tutoring offerred for students in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

We recommend that tutoring occurs once a week. This allows the tutor and the student to get to know each other well and form a bond. However, the frequency of tutoring is completely up to you. If you would prefer to have multiple sessions a week or just need a tutor once a month, that can also be arranged.

At Apex Tuition Australia, the cost of your tutoring will depend on three factors:

1. Are you getting an academic or professional tutor?
2. Do you want tutoring online or in-person?
3. What year level is the student completing?

For our academic tutors, the pricing is:

• $85 per hour for Year 11 & 12 in-person tutoring
• $72 per hour for Year 11 & 12 online tutoring
• $75 per hour for Year 10 or below in-person tutoring
• $62 per hour for Year 10 or below  online tutoring

For our professional tutors, the pricing is:

• $125 per hour for Year 11 & 12 in-person tutoring
• $110 per hour for Year 11 & 12 online tutoring
• $110 per hour for Year 10 or below in-person tutoring
• $95 per hour for Year 10 or below  online tutoring

Most of our tutors are recently graduated high school students who finished in the top 3% of their subjects with a median ATAR of 99.00. Many of them have gone on to further study the subjects they tutor at university. All our tutors are passionate educators and pride themselves on their knowledge in their chosen subjects. To become a tutor with Apex, all tutors go through a rigorous application and interview process as well supply us with a valid Working With Children's Check.

Before you begin tutoring, you will be asked to do two things:

1. Register to Teachworks - our tutoring management software where you can view all past sessions, upcoming sessions and your invoices/payments
2. Set up a direct debit with Stripe

If you do not want to set up a direct debit, please alert us and our Finance team will provide alternative payment options.

Yes, we offer a discount for customers who want to purchase multiple lessons up-front. The size of the discount changes based on the number of lessons purchased:

• 2.5% discount for 10-20 hours
• 5.0% discount for 21 - 30 hours
• 7.5% discount for 31 - 50 hours
• 10.0% discount for 51+ hours

Stopping tutoring is super easy. There are no lock-in contracts or extra fees so you can stop whenever you would like. If you do decide to stop, please let us know so that we can update our records.

Of course! Sometimes, the learning styles or the personalities of the tutor and the student do not match. In these instances, we will find you a replacement tutor right away.

Yes, all of our tutors are familiar with the current curriculum. We recognise how important it is that your tutor is an expert in the curriculum they are teaching. Either the tutor would have completed the same subject at school as the student via our academic tutoring service or the tutor will be a qualified teacher with experience teaching the subject via our professional service tier.

Each curriculum in Australia is slightly different and has its own nuances that are important for the tutor to know. We will always endeavour to match you with a tutor who is intimately familiar with the curriculum your child is completing.

At the moment, we have tutors who have completed the VCE, HSC, QCE, SACE, WACE and IB.

For younger year levels, we will endeavour to find a tutor who has completed the same course but this is less vital.

Communication with the tutor is very easy. The tutor will make contact with you and then you are free to communicate with the tutor in whatever way works best. Our Operations team is also always here to help if you need any assistance.
