Our tutors will teach Year 3 students following the Australian curriculum, ensuring they achieve key outcomes in exploring, creating, and presenting visual artworks. By the end of Year 3, students describe how visual conventions and materials are used in artworks they create and encounter. They learn to use various techniques to express their ideas and perspectives through art, experimenting with different materials and visual conventions. Students create artworks inspired by their experiences and observations, sharing their creations in informal settings and developing their confidence as artists.
Our tutors will ensure to cover all topics from the Year 3 Art curriculum:
Exploring and Responding:
Students explore artworks from different cultures and time periods, including those by First Nations Australian artists. They discuss the purpose of visual arts in expressing ideas and stories, and they reflect on the elements used in the artworks they study.
Developing Practices and Skills:
Students experiment with using different materials and techniques, such as drawing, painting, and digital tools, to create textures, patterns, and shapes. They learn how to use space, colour, and composition to create balance and focus in their artworks.
Creating and Making:
Students use visual conventions and processes to create artworks that communicate their ideas, drawing inspiration from their surroundings and personal experiences. They combine various materials to explore new ways of expressing their thoughts through art.
Presenting and Performing:
Students share their artworks with peers, discussing the inspiration behind their creations and the techniques they used. They practise presenting their art in a way that highlights their creative process and the meaning behind their work.
