Our tutors will teach Year 2 students following the Australian curriculum, ensuring they achieve key outcomes in exploring, creating, and sharing visual artworks. By the end of Year 1, students identify where they experience visual arts and describe how people use visual arts to express ideas across cultures and communities. They experiment with different materials and techniques to create their own artworks and share these in informal settings, developing their confidence as young artists.
Our tutors will ensure to cover all topics from the Year 2 Art curriculum:
Exploring and Responding:
Students explore different types of visual artworks, including those from diverse cultures and First Nations Australians. They learn to ask questions about the meaning and techniques behind artworks they encounter, discussing what they see and feel.
Developing Practices and Skills:
Students experiment with various materials, such as paint, clay, and digital tools, to create textures and shapes. They play with visual elements like lines, colours, and patterns to build their understanding of artistic techniques.
Creating and Making:
Students use their imagination to create simple artworks, combining different materials and visual conventions. They experiment with arranging and rearranging elements in their creations to change the meaning or story of their art.
Presenting and Performing:
Students share their artworks with peers, explaining the choices they made and what they like about their creations. They practise presenting their work confidently, using frames or displays to highlight their favourite aspects.
