Our tutors will teach Year 6 students following the Australian curriculum, ensuring they achieve key outcomes in exploring, creating, and presenting visual artworks. By the end of Year 6, students explain how visual elements, materials, and processes are used in their own artworks and those they study. They develop skills to create and refine artworks that communicate ideas and perspectives, experimenting with various visual conventions. Students engage with artworks from diverse cultures and contexts, including First Nations Australian artists, and reflect on how visual arts can express identity and convey meaning.
Our tutors will ensure to cover all topics from the Year 6 Art curriculum:
Exploring and Responding:
Students explore artworks from local, national, and international artists, discussing how visual conventions are used to express social, historical, or environmental ideas. They reflect on the meaning behind artworks, considering multiple perspectives.
Developing Practices and Skills:
Students experiment with different materials and visual conventions, such as texture, colour, and form, to create artworks. They practise using a variety of techniques, like drawing, painting, and digital tools, to express their creative ideas.
Creating and Making:
Students plan and create artworks that convey specific ideas or stories, drawing inspiration from their surroundings and cultural studies. They refine their works through experimentation, making choices about materials and techniques to best express their intentions.
Presenting and Performing:
Students display their artworks in informal and formal settings, learning how to present their pieces to engage audiences. They discuss their creative process, explaining the decisions behind their choice of materials and visual conventions.
