Julien holds a doctoral degree in Fine Arts from the University of Tasmania. He has taught several photography units at the University of Tasmania for 6 years (until 2024) and also designed and taught photography courses at vocational institutions TasTAFE and Foundry during that time. A native French speaker, Julien has also taught 1st and 3rd year level French at the University of Tasmania and assessed written and oral examinations. Julien has been teaching French at the Alliance Française de Hobart and as a private tutor for over 12 years. His teaching philosophy is student-centred and comprehensive to help students learn deeply and make the most of their study.
