Year 10 Maths was a subject I really wanted to improve in before starting my senior years. I was doing okay with some topics, but as the work became harder I started getting stuck on questions and wasn’t always confident that I was using the right method.My tutor helped me go through the areas I was finding difficult and explained each concept in a way that was much easier for me to understand. We worked through lots of practice problems together, and I learnt how to break more complicated questions down into smaller steps.Over time, I became much more confident solving questions without needing help and started seeing an improvement in my tests as well. I finished Year 10 feeling much stronger in Maths and much more prepared for the harder Maths subjects in senior school.
Starting Year 7 was a big change, and English was one of the subjects I found hardest to adjust to. The assignments were more detailed than what I was used to, and I sometimes struggled with understanding texts and explaining my ideas properly in writing.My tutor helped me improve the basics and made English feel much more manageable. We practised reading comprehension, planning paragraphs, using quotes and improving my grammar and vocabulary. I could also bring along things I was working on at school and get help with anything I didn’t understand.As I became more confident, I found it easier to start assignments by myself and my writing became much clearer. My results improved throughout the year, and by the end of Year 7 I felt much more comfortable with English.
English became a lot more challenging for me in Year 9, particularly when we started doing more detailed text analysis and longer essays. I often had ideas about the texts we were studying but found it difficult to turn them into a strong response.My tutor showed me how to plan before I started writing, structure my arguments and explain quotes and techniques in more detail. We also reviewed my assignments and practice essays together, which helped me see the small changes I could make to improve my marks.After a few months, I felt much more confident approaching new essay questions and was able to organise my ideas much more quickly. I started getting better feedback at school and noticed a clear improvement in my results.By the end of Year 9, English was a subject I felt much more capable in, and having regular help from my tutor made a huge difference.

Most sessions run for one hour. Students preparing for a major assessment or a SACE exam can book longer lessons when they need them. You can agree on the length with your tutor when they contact you to organise the first session, and change it later as your child's needs change. To get started, fill in our parent and student application.
We recommend one session a week so the tutor and student can build a strong working relationship. Frequency is up to you: we can arrange several sessions a week, for example before exams, or a single session a month.
Pricing depends on whether you choose an Academic or Professional Tutor and whether sessions are online or in person. There are no lock-in contracts, and discounts are available for lesson packages. See our pricing page for current rates.
