Laurenz graduated as Dux of School from Geelong Grammar School in 2020 with an IB score of 44 (ATAR: 99.75). He achieved perfect scores of 7 in HL Chemistry, German and Geography, as well as in SL Maths and Music (Group performance). He also achieved 3 points in his Core element with an 'A' (maximum mark) in his Extended Essay based in Geography. Laurenz is currently studying a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne and is looking forward to pursuing a career within the Health Sciences or Medicine. He has also been involved in numerous co-curricular activities like representing his school in the APS 1st division for both soccer and tennis, playing soccer for the top team at the Melbourne University Soccer Club, and performing in gigs as a member of a jazz/contemporary music band. His broad range of interests allow him to cater effectively to a variety of students and to find the method of learning that best suits the individual. He not only aims to help students improve in specific areas, but also to assist students in understanding how different topics from the Syllabus relate to one another. It is this integration of knowledge that leads to a better understanding of the subjects and a more enjoyable learning experience. Ultimately, Laurenz hopes that he can help students find the IB as rewarding as he did, and achieve the scores they desire.
