I have worked since 2002 with students at primary, secondary and university levels, teaching, tutoring and guiding both as a classroom teacher and tutor. I have been involved with the preparation, administration and marking of exams both for schools and as a part-time employee of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority. As a tutor, I guide students towards best exam practice and bring my experience as a marker to assist them as much as possible. My work with the QCAA also involved marking Year 12 external examinations, NAPLAN marking and being a panellist on the Legal Studies District Advisory Panel. These roles required following strict criteria and enforcement of procedures and standards to ensure equity and effectiveness of testing. I have worked with students from all areas of life, including many culturally diverse students and those with special needs, including students with disability, exam anxiety and behavioural issues.
