VCE General Maths is one of the most popular subjects that students undertake in the VCE. It is considered the easier Maths as opposed to Maths Methods and Specialist Maths. As a result, lots of students take thing subject. Because so many students take the subject, in order to do well, you need to be close to perfect. When we have interviewed our tutors and successful students, the number one piece of advice for how to do well is to do practice questions.
Check out this article where we explain why past papers are the most important way to study for an exam
The questions you practice out of your textbook are good to build the base knowledge, but they are often very different to the questions they ask in the exam. You need to be getting familiar with the style of questions they ask in exams. Obviously exams change from year to year, but VCE examiners will often re-use question formats from previous year exams.
However, you can only really start doing practice exams once you have completed the entire course. So what if you wanted to practice exam-style questions before then?

If you get it incorrect, you can leave a note in the table for each topic. This means you need to do some further study on the topic or get some help to understand why you got it wrong. You need to keep a log of all your incorrect answers.
You should then return to answer these questions in a couple of weeks to ensure you now understand these questions.
