School Dates And Public Holidays For Students In Sydney In 2027 blog cover

NSW public schools run on a four-term year, with slightly different start dates for Eastern Division and Western Division schools. This guide covers the official 2027 NSW term dates, school holidays, school development days and public holidays, so families in Sydney and across NSW can plan the year ahead. Independent and Catholic schools often follow similar dates, but always check your school's calendar.

What's Different About 2027?

  • Easter falls during Term 1. Good Friday (26 March) and Easter Monday (29 March) are public holidays in the middle of Term 1, so the autumn holidays (12–23 April) don't include Easter.
  • A later start for students. Eastern Division students start on Wednesday 3 February, after five school development days.
  • A long gap before Term 2. After the autumn holidays, Monday 26 April is the additional Anzac Day public holiday, and Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 April are school development days. Students return on Thursday 29 April.
  • Term 4 finishes on a Monday. The last day for students is Monday 20 December.

Grace is the Marketing Manager at Apex Tuition Australia. She graduated from Ateneo de Davao University in 2017 as an Academic Scholar, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature. Growing up, she loved reading stories and anything she could get her hands on, so she chose the course without realising it would mean readings on readings on readings (she’d still recommend it, though!). At 20, she began her career with a US-based company, stepping in nervously as the youngest team member, but soon gained valuable experience that shaped her early growth. Outside of work, Grace enjoys music (especially karaoke, where she believes enthusiasm matters more than pitch), binge-watching movies and series (and calling it language learning), and planning her next travel escape, even if it’s just to the nearest café with good Wi-Fi.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
